Len is arguably the best wrestler ever to compete at Oregon State. He earned three conference titles and earned All-American status three times as well. He also was a four-time AAU All-American, including National Freestyle titles in 1964 and 1969.
Len Kauffman was a successful wrestler at Lebanon High School and then was a two-time All-American at Oregon State University. He is a member of the Hall of Fame at both schools. After college he continued wrestling and was a two-time National AAU freestyle champion who placed fourth at the 1966 World Championships.

When Kaufman left in 1984, Marlin was named the head coach, retiring in 2006 as the longest-tenured coach in the history of the PSU wrestling program, which was discontinued in 2009.
