Aug 5, 2024 · Graphic EQ's (GEQ) became popular in part because of limitations of earlier bass speaker cabinets combined with legacy voicings that were commonly encountered in amps of the era. Clearly, speaker (technology) voicing has improved greatly in the past 20-30 years as has our ability to get a lot more out of a speaker (safely).
Sep 19, 2023 · I recently gigged with a MarkBass amp with graphic EQ, which merely served as a stage monitor - like most amps do these days. Didn't see any benefit of sliders - actually didn't use them either.
Jan 11, 2011 · If you like your tone, whatever it may be, to come from the amp then Markbass probably isn't for you. They have a few filters on them that do drastic eq swaps , but they are generally super clean. Some also say they are even sterile sounding.
