Marty Roe. Timothy Martin “Marty” Roe was born December 28, 1960 in Lebanon, Ohio to Zane and Bertie Roe. He married Robin on December 11, 1982 at the West End Church of Christ in Nashville, TN.
The formation that became known as the six-time Vocal Group of the Year, Diamond Rio, was formed in 1989 and consisted of Marty Roe (lead vocals), Jimmy Olander (guitar/banjo), Dana Williams (bass/vocals), Dan Truman (piano), Brian Prout (drums), and Gene Johnson (mandolin/vocals), and up until recently have had no member changes.
Marty Roe has been a musician for over 30 years. He and his wife Robin struggled for several years while chasing their dream. Their prayers were finally answered in 1991 as Marty and his band Diamond Rio were offered a recording contract.
