Meredosia is a village in Morgan County, Illinois, United States. The population was 826 at the 2020 census, down from 1,044 in 2010. It is part of the Jacksonville Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Meredosia Island is a tract of woodland north of town that becomes water-bound when the river runs high. Many families resided there and made a living of the river there prior to 1920 by trapping furs and hunting fowl.
