The Messeturm, or Trade Fair Tower, is a 63-storey, 257 m (843 ft) skyscraper in the Westend-Süd district of Frankfurt, Germany. It is the second tallest building in Frankfurt, the second tallest building in Germany and the third tallest building in the European Union.
It is Germany's second tallest, [1] and at the time of its building, it was the tallest building in Europe. [2] It is the fourth tallest building in Europe. It is 257 metres (840 feet) tall. MesseTurm is located in Frankfurt's district Westend. This is near the same named Trade Fair-Area in the centre of the city.
After World War II, it served as the headquarters for the Supreme Allied Command and from 1949 to 1952 the High Commissioner for Germany (HICOG). It became the principal location for implementing the Marshall Plan, which largely financed the post-war reconstruction of Europe.
