Skinny Molly is an American southern rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The band was formed in 2004 by guitarist/vocalist Mike Estes (guitar player for Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blackfoot), Dave Hlubek (guitarist and founding member of Molly Hatchet) and drummer Kurt Pietro.

Apr 3, 2024 · In 1987, Mike joined the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, where he played guitar and co-wrote songs for three years. After leaving Lynyrd Skynyrd, he formed his own bands, including the Southern rock band Blackfoot and the blues band Skin.
After striking up an unlikely friendship with Allen Collins while still a teenager, Mike’s first band, Helen Highwater, was both christened and given guidance by the late Lynyrd Skynyrd icon (who once gave him an eight-hour guitar lesson), and the bond deepened when the young band opened up Skynyrd’s ’87 Tribute Tour.
