  2. 132 reviews. March 27, 2024. An obsessed mother of a cancer patient creates a "test-tube baby" to harvest for "parts" for her sick daughter. It is a very depressing book but I would still recommend it. Don't watch the movie.

  4. Sep 1, 2016 · The only thing the movie adaptation has over the book (in my opinion) is the ending. While I rate the book highly, the ending was such a kicker. I really liked Anna's character and was rooting for her, so to have all of the anguish she experienced throughout the story amount to nothing was painful.

  5. Jan 31, 2024 · 5/5: Second time reading this book and loved it just the same as the first. I love how each person in the book has their own font and their own voice. I cried almost as hard as the first time. Still glad I never watched the movie because I hear they changed the ending. Big mistake.
