  4. Overreaching Clive Barker production suffers a boatload of known problems. Targets include an uncharismatic lead who stumbles every single scene he is in, a ridiculous plot that lacks cohesion as well as intelligence, not to mention an overlong, unsatisfying ending.

And in my opinion, while the director’s cut (also available in the 4-disc set, though not in 4K UHD) is a much better movie, it still suffers from some insurmountable problems with the material.
