Nordsternpark (lit. North Star Park) is a park in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. It is located on the compound of former mine of Zeche Nordstern. After the closure of the mine in 1993 the area was redeveloped. In 1997, the Bundesgartenschau (Federal Garden Exhibition) took place here. [1]

With children's and adventure playgrounds, an educational farm, jetty, restaurants and its amphitheater with open-air stage, the park offers numerous leisure activities. The heart of the former colliery site and landmark is the North Star Tower with its monumental statue "Hercules of Gelsenkirchen" on the tower roof.

The new landmark of today's Nordsternpark is the "Hercules of Gelsenkirchen". It can be seen from afar. The statue, which stands on the winding tower of Shaft 2, is 18 metres tall.
