Paramus (/ p ə ˈ r æ m ə s / pə-RAM-əs) is a borough in the central portion of Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. A suburban bedroom community of New York City, Paramus is located 15 to 20 miles (24 to 32 km) northwest of Midtown Manhattan and approximately 8 miles (13 km) west of Upper Manhattan.
There are many ways to get in to Paramus. Many from New York City take the George Washington Bridge straight onto New Jersey state route 4. Overall, Paramus is extremely accessible due to a large network of major highways surrounding it, including U.S. Interstates 80 and 95, the Garden State Parkway, and New Jersey state routes 4, 17, and 208.
