He feels nothing. It's about as effective as the alcohol. Those who are saying he tried to kill himself because of Unity: I have news for you. This isn't 9th grade. It has nothing to do with Unity. Unity is simply a distraction. Rick's problems go much deeper than that.

Oct 5, 2015 · With Rick locked up in space prison and the Earth now under the control of the Galactic Federation, this finale echoes season 1 in how brave it is in upending the show’s status quo.
Rick, obviously being hurt about Unity leaving him, goes into the garage. His family stares at him, knowing something’s up, but don’t follow him to the garage. He then attempts suicide and passes out before he succeeds.
