- About Us
The Sample-McDougald House, located at 450 NE 10th Street in Pompano Beach, celebrated its centennial in 2016. The house was built in 1916, and it is today one of a relative handful of structures in Broward County that are 100 years old or older.
The Sample-McDougald Home, also known as the Old Sample Estate and Pine Haven, is a 17-room Colonial Revival structure constructed by Sample in the style of a Greenville, South Carolina, home he previously owned.
The Sample-McDougald House, listed on the National and Local Register of Historic Places, is a distinctive historic house museum known for its unique architecture, history and cultural background. It was built in 1916 by Pompano Beach pioneer and farmer, Albert Neal Sample, who served as a community leader until his death in 1941.

For any persons with disabilities, we have a zero-entry ramp and lift to the first floor of the house. We have designated accessible parking spaces and restrooms. The Sample-McDougald House (also known as the Sample Estate or Pinehaven) is a 4,700 square feet (440 m 2) historic home in Pompano Beach, Florida, built in 1916.
Located on the grounds of Centennial Park, this historic home, built in 1916, was originally located on Dixie Highway but was moved to its present location in 2001. Listed on the US National Register of Historic Places, it is now a house museum, open to the public for tours and plays host to many public events.
