What is Sterntor in Bonn? Sterntor, also known as the Star Gate, is a historic city gate located in Bonn, Germany. It’s one of the last remnants of the medieval fortifications that once surrounded the old town of Bonn.
The Sterntor city gate at the edge of Bottlerplatz provides reminders of Bonn's fortifications in the Middle Ages. The original Sterntor from the 13th century stood a few metres from its current site. In 1898 it was pulled down to accommodate the increasing traffic in the city.
