He was born in Newbury , Berkshire in 1886 and took the stage name of Stewart Rome, which was later unsuccessfully contested by Cecil Hepworth , who also used the name.

Biography. Stewart Rome made his mark in the world of entertainment when he worked on the Annabella crime feature "Dinner at the Ritz" (1937). In 1913, he made his film debut in "Thou Shalt Not Steal." In 1925, he appeared in "The Rugged Path." In 1950, he played his final film role in "Stick 'Em Up."
