The Strasenburgh Planetarium is a public planetarium situated at 663 East Avenue in the city of Rochester, New York. Named after its benefactors, Edwin and Clara Strasenburgh, it is a part of the Rochester Museum and Science Center.
The Star Theater houses the first Zeiss Mark VI planetarium projector, still in daily operation, and was the first to be computer automated. There are star shows, laser/music shows, movies, and there are free telescope viewings from the roof of the planetarium on Saturday nights!
Jun 7, 2022 · The RMSC Strasenburgh Planetarium unveiled two new exhibits on June 2: Rochester’s Eyes in Space and Same Sky. These exhibits are open and available to the public in the Planetarium lobby before and after regularly scheduled shows.
The Strasenburgh Planetarium exhibits are open to the public every Wednesday–Friday from 1:30–5:00pm. Tickets purchased online are valid for the date selected and are non refundable. Seats are first come, first served. We highly suggest coming early.
