Feb 9, 1970 · Tara Davis was the only child of the actor Marlin Otho "Jim" Davis and his wife, Blanche A. Hammerer. She passed away in 1970, in an auto accident. Her ashes were interred in the Great Mausoleum of Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Their only child, daughter Tara Diane Davis, was killed in an automobile accident at the age of 17. Davis later became close to his Dallas co-star Victoria Principal , who had a physical resemblance to his late daughter.
Jim shares his grave with his only daughter Tara Diane who was buried 11 years before him. With the death of Blanche Davis in 2009 parents and daughter were reunited in the family grave. The Great Mausoleum is closed to the public. Many prominent people were present at Jim's funeral.
