This episode of The Good Cop opens with the escape of a man named Sherman Smalls (John Caroll Lynch) from prison and the subsequent manhunt. It appears that he killed a woman in a nearby cabin, brutally attacking and overpowering her husband. Hair and blood were both left at the scene, positively connecting Sherman to the murder.
John Carroll Lynch is actually quite good guest starring as a Tony’s fugitive friend of Tony, even when he’s asked to push the boundaries of believability (like hiding from TJ by playacting as a German woman). Some mild toilet humor and gory images make this episode of THE GOOD COP inappropriate for children.

The father (Tony Danza) is supposed to be an ex-cop turned bad (guilty of white collar crime) who used to be very good at his job. Sofar he's just been portrait as a buffoon with the brain capacity of a lobotomized chimp.
