The Town centers around Doug (Affleck) who works for a Sand and Gravel pit in the small little town of Charlestown but on the side he lives a deep darker life that no one would even think imaginable. With his Brother James “Jem” Coughlin.
Four friends Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck), James Coughlin (Jeremy Renner), Albert Magloan (Slaine) and Desmond Elden (Owen Burke) are robbers working the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston. In their latest job, they take the bank manager Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall) hostage and then let her go.

Doug McCray (Ben Affleck) and his long-time friend James “Jem” Coughlin (Jeremy Renner) lead a team of bank robbers. Along with two other friends, “Gloansy” Magloan (rapper Slaine) and Desmond Elden (Owen Burke) they pull off well planned, quick, and very rewarding robberies.

The Town is a 2010 American crime thriller film co-written and directed by Ben Affleck, adapted from Chuck Hogan's 2004 novel Prince of Thieves. [3] [4] The film stars Affleck, Rebecca Hall, Jon Hamm, Jeremy Renner, Blake Lively, Titus Welliver, Pete Postlethwaite, Chris Cooper and Slaine.
With loose-cannon best friend Jim Coughlin (Jeremy Renner) and cronies Gloansy (Slaine) and Desmond (Owen Burke) by his side, Doug leads the way on a masked bank hold-up that leaves them with duffle bags of cash and, briefly, a female hostage, manager Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall).
