Mar 22, 2010 · Has anyone ever seen a 3 point mounter road reclaimer. I has a section of a heavy disk that is angled to throw the gravel back on to the road and chop up the sod. Or does anyone have any other sugesstions to bring the shoulder of the roads in. thanks alot.

Rather than blading the shoulder with a grader and then removing the excess material and debris, our reclaimer churns the material, bringing fresh gravel and soil to the edge of the road. Offset design allows operator to keep tractor safely on the road while reaching deep down the shoulder.
To correct these problems, the road must be graded several times in order to break-up clumps of sod and reshape the shoulder. This procedure is time-consuming and wasteful, requiring numerous yards of new aggregate to replace the gravel lost during routine maintenance.

This article examines the shoulder reclaimer's ability to recycle gravel. The 6-foot disk, resembling a harrow, is attached behind a tractor. The disk is angled, so the tractor can remain partially on the roadway.
Mar 2, 2017 · The reclaimer is designed to cut the shoulder sod in narrow ribbons so it is more manageable, once adjusted right. Speed is also important seems like it works best at 8 to 10 mph, tends to throw sod & material further into the road, & starts drying faster.
