On August 18, 2021, it was announced that Travis Braun’s preschool series Pupstruction had been greenlit for Disney Junior. Braun also executive producers alongside Vic Cook with Robyn Brown serving as co-producer/story editor. Abigail Nesbitt is supervising director. Filming
Voice recording on the first season began sometime in 2021 and ended in 2022. In early January 2023, the cast returned to begin voice recording for the second season.
Casting
In April 2022, Yonas Kibreab, Carson Minniear, Scarlett Kate Ferguson and Mica Zeltzer joined the cast as series regulars, while Justina Machado, Bobby Moynihan, Kari Wahlgren, Eric Bauza and Alessandra Perez joined in recurring capacities. In May 2023, Yvette Nicole Brown joined the cast in a recurring role, while Olga Merediz, Todrick Hall, Gabriel Iglesias and Nate Torrencejoined the cast in guest roles.
Pupstruction premiered on Disney Channel and Disney Junior on Wednesday, June 14 at 8 a.m. EST. The first eight episodes were also was released the same day on Disney+. The second season is set to air on October 14, 2024. The first thirteen episodes will be released to stream on Disney+.
