    • North Region. The North region of Brazil is the largest in area, occupying a bit more than 45% of the national territory. It also has the largest biodiversity in the country, thanks to the Amazon Forest.
    • Northeast Region. The first Portuguese that came to Brazil in 1500 first arrived in Bahia, in the Northeast of Brazil. Because of that, this is the oldest region to be colonized in the country.
