   Why is my Yaesu radio not working?

   • It's a weak design that Yaesu did on purpose. Too much strain is on that type of connector and the female on the radio can't take it. Those pins break on the board and cause the solder to fracture.

   Is RT systems software a good ADMs for Yaesu radios?

   • Thank you. The RT Systems software is is far better than any ADMS I ever used for Yaesu radios. One big plus is that you can use a database from one radio and transfer the data to another RT Systems software package. Ah! Awesome!

   I tried Chirp and had a difficult time getting the radio to link with the computer both down and uploads. Downloaded and installed G4HFQ's software and it worked perfectly. I like my Yaesu mobiles and this makes working with them simple and painless. This is just as it should be with programming software. For the price ($15)this is a great buy.

I had to resolder it, and seem to recall finding a pinout guide that had serial transmit and receive on the adapter tied together?? Sounds crazy, but it worked. Let me dig up my cable to ohm it out and get back to you.

   Jul 23, 2020 · Programming a Yaesu FT-4XR with CHIRP. RESOLVED. Has anyone programmed one with CHIRP on MacOS or at all? I connected it and couldn't download from or clone to the radio.
