     Not sure what is the library you use to perform the above operation. If you can convert your Java code to a sequence of operations that can repeat step by step on a MIB browser, then you should be able to interpret the meaning.

     For example, 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.10.2.1.15 is a column named prtMarkerStatus in the prtMarkerTable, defined in PRINTER-MIB (original RFC is https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc3805),

     Because it is a column, so I could hardly understand what you mean "When I give 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.10.2.1.15 to check printer status I got this (1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.5.1.1 3) as output". What was the SNMP request on the wire? GET NEXT, GET BULK, or another? It is meaningless to send a GET with 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.10.2.1.15 as that's invalid.

     The proper way to manage printers, is to fully digest RFC 3805, which documents what are the tables defined in it, and what all the columns mean. Once you understand how this MIB document models the printers, it should be fairly easy to write correct Java code to walk the tables and grab the data you need.

     For a commercial software RPL is even worse than GPL.

     It is true that you have to publish your source code on any derivative work.

     Also in GNU web site it says:

     The Reciprocal Public License is a non-free license because of three problems. 1. It puts limits on prices charged for an initial copy. 2. It requires notification of the original developer for publication of a modified version. 3. It requires publication of any modified version that an organization uses, even privately.

     In a more serious tone, you should always consult to your lawyer, but it could be helpful if you read the annotated MPL 1.1 at: http://www.mozilla.org/MPL/MPL-1.1-annotated.html but it basically means that the files can be combined with proprietary files on a "larger work", still, it would be wise if you read the annotated version and consult it with a lawyer.

     I'm not sure about if you have doubts about Apache license since you mention it on the question topic but not in the body of your question.

     I'ts been a minute since I took computer organization, but the relevant wiki on 'Byte' gives some context.

     The byte was originally the smallest number of bits that could hold a single character (I assume standard ASCII). We still use ASCII standard, so 8 bits per character is still relevant. This sentence, for instance, is 41 bytes. That's easily countable and practical for our purposes.

     If we had only 4 bits, there would only be 16 (2^4) possible characters, unless we used 2 bytes to represent a single character, which is more inefficient computationally. If we had 16 bits in a byte, we would have a whole lot more 'dead space' in our instruction set, we would allow 65,536 (2^16) possible characters, which would make computers run less efficiently when performing byte-level instructions, especially since our character set is much smaller.

     Additionally, a byte can represent 2 nibbles. Each nibble is 4 bits, which is the smallest number of bits that can encode any numeric digit from 0 to 9 (10 different digits).
