May 18, 2024 · There are some top units here that happen to be on elite teams, and that is no coincidence. In this league, games are won in the trenches, so without a strong offensive line, any team is doomed, frankly. Let's rank all 32 projected starting offensive lines for 2024, with depth charts provided by Ourlads.
- Philadelphia Eagles. Ralph Vacchiano: They've been dominant in run- and pass-blocking in recent years and show no signs of slowing down, even with a 35-year-old center in Jason Kelce and a 33-year-old right tackle in Lane Johnson.
- Kansas City Chiefs. Geoff Schwartz: The Chiefs enter 2023 with the best offensive line they've fielded during this dynasty. There's no other example in modern NFL history of what the Chiefs have done to overhaul their offensive line during a Super Bowl run.
- Detroit Lions. Carmen Vitali: The Lions have prided themselves on their offensive line for quite some time now (get it?) and no one benefited more than Jared Goff last season.
- Cleveland Browns. Vacchiano: For a team with so many other flaws, they sure did get the offensive line right, which has powered one of the most dangerous running attacks in the league.
- Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles' offensive line is the gold standard. Philly has built a dominating unit over the years through the draft, combining high-value assets early in the draft with project players the team has developed into some of the best in the NFL.
- Kansas City Chiefs. If you ever doubted the importance of a quality offensive line, look no further than the Chiefs' Sunday night game. When the Chiefs last played Tampa Bay, the Bucs' defensive line terrorized Patrick Mahomes over 60 minutes in their Super Bowl win.
- Detroit Lions. Rarely does a team without an excellent quarterback hover near the top of all the offensive efficiency rankings. Investments with first-round picks at both tackle positions (LT Taylor Decker, RT Penei Sewell) and at center (Frank Ragnow) have paid off for Detroit.
- Cleveland Browns. It's no surprise the Browns are on this list. They've had a top-five offensive line for years. Once again, investment in the unit alongside one of the best offensive line coaches in the game equals continued success, even with injuries at center and right tackle.
