    The route starts with a pavement extended from Silvent City, ending in front of a blocked cave. A line of trees are to the left, with one of them being extraordinarily small such that it can be cut down. Behind the line of trees, a grassy staircase is present, leading the player to the brown gate on top towards Route 5.

    Getting HM1 Cut

    Route 4 can be entered when the player gains access to Silvent City, but the rocky slope beside the gate high up has collapsed, and the path to that gate is blocked by a small tree. A lumberjack is present to give the player HM1 Cut, which the player can teach to a Pokémon and cut down the tree afterwards to advance forward. However, before the player can actually use Cut on the field, he or she must first acquire the Arc Badge in Silvent Gym.
