  5. AoE4 is newer and more streamlined. I think for a new player it is definitely more intuitive. AoE2 has a lot of somewhat hidden mechanics that can be clunky or unintuitive. Oh also the sound design in AoE4 is amazing. Personally the multiplayer gameplay in AoE4 has slightly surpassed AoE2 with the last major update.
