Of all the .22LR ammo I have, only the Advantage Arms-recommended Remington 40gr. Golden Bullet and Federal 40gr. Auto-Match ammo functions reliably (very reliably). I just replaced my Colt's stock 23lb. hammer spring with a 20lb.

May 27, 2023 · Here's a mental exercise: Say a non-gun type desires to buy a handgun---in particular a 1911 type, in .45ACP no less, for home defense. Say the fellow is pretty well heeled---a successful physician or attorney who can afford the cost, but as I said, isn't a gun-type of person but they love the 1911 .45 and the reputation that goes with it---no sub calibers for training.
Dec 31, 2016 · I use CCI SV or Eley Target (yellow box) as my baseline ammo in all my pistols. Then I test a range of target grade ammo. For you, a box or two of various types might be enough to find out what your gun likes best. Suggest trying CCI SV, Aguila SE, Wolf Match Extra, Eley Sport (purple), and Eley Target (yellow), You might like em all.
