Mar 18, 2024 · But what makes Westside so strong is the joyous culture that permeates the school. When the current head of school, Steve de Beer, joined 5 or 6 years ago, he brought such a positive, upbeat energy to the school and everyone who teaches our kids has been so positive.
The goal of these projects is to embody the spirit of our school’s mission statement: “to create a community of lifelong learners who… inspire the world with their curiosity, innovation, compassion, and stewardship.”.
Westside’s Middle School Visual Arts Program focuses on building confidence and community through a project-based learning approach. Students are encouraged to express themselves in a variety of media, relying on their imaginations, resourcefulness, and creative problem-solving skills.
Current Projects. The Westside Foundation works closely with Westside Community Schools Administration in researching potential projects that will impact students and teachers throughout the district. The projects below have been approved by district and building leaders.
The Impacting Excellence campaign is the largest privately-funded project in the district’s history and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to leave your legacy at Westside High School by contributing to the project.
