PINGU is playing with his boat on the water. The boat keeps sinking because of a leaking hull but usually PINGU is just able to rescue it but then it gets just too far out of reach. A passer-by sees what is happening and uses their ski to edge out and rescue the boat; unfortunately in the process he falls in and loses his skis.
A seagull steals PINGU's fish. His search for the thief leads him to a bird's nest full of young birds. When PINGU sees the chicks he understands the mother bird's actions. What is more he decides to help by stealing fish from around the village to feed the birds.
