Murray perfectly mimics Thompson's distinct mannerisms and style of speech, and the film is fittingly wild, anarchic, undisciplined and irreverent, but director Art Linson is too much of a novice to make things work. The film plays like a bad Altman movie. Still, "Buffalo" captures a certain spirit.
