Louisa Glasson (or Louisa Ellingham since she married Martin Ellingham) is a former headmisteress for the local primary school and currently a counselor. She is married to Portwenn's local GP Martin Ellingham she shares two children James Henry and Mary Elizabeth.
Season 1
Martin and Louisa first meet on a plane when Martin could not stop staring at her, she thought he was being rude, but instead he noticed she had glaucoma. At the end of season 1, she finds out about his haemophobia, but he eventually proves himself when he saves Peter's life. Their first kiss was in the back of the taxi where he screwed up and told her that she needed mouthwash.
Season 2
In season 2 Louisa and Martin are apart, an old boyfriend from her past arrives and he begins courting her, eventually she notices that he is very controlling and when he wants her to leave with him she decides to stay in Portwenn.
Season 3
Louisa and Martin's relationship starts to develop this season. With her ex gone, Louisa is single and waiting for Martin. After her friend suffers a fall and Martin has to help, he asks her to marry him and tells her that he cannot live without her and she accepts. However, the day of the wedding, bad omens start happening and they decide to call off the wedding.
