This plan was developed in accordance with the 90-day National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) formula program guidance issued on February 10, 2022. The plan was approved by the Joint Office on September 27, 2022. Approval of the plan allows the state of Iowa to begin implementing the plan and accessing the federal NEVI formula funding.
As of June 2023, a approximately 12,800 EVs were registered in Iowa. To support the growing popularity for electric vehicles in Iowa, 270 Level 2 and Level 3 fast-charging stations are available for public use across the state. Most of these stations have more than one spot to plug in.
