The Cincinnati Art Museum is an art museum in the Eden Park neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded in 1881, it was the first purpose-built art museum west of the Alleghenies, and is one of the oldest in the United States.
Before assuming his role of president at the Academy of Art Cincinnati, Joe Girandola began his career in arts administration as the Artist Residency Director at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha, NE.
Like Baldwin, he suggests that the real mark may be white. In the themes that develop from the myth of Cain, the "mark" is often distinguished from the "curse." The former can be inter- preted as a badge of protection as well as shame: God "set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him" (Genesis 4:I5).
In the summer of 2023, Orange Barrel Media commissioned Sarah Cain to create a permanent outdoor public art installation for its Columbus, Ohio, headquarters at 250 North Harford Avenue. Cain’s monumental work of art is her largest site-specific painting to date and is a vibrant new landmark in the city’s skyline.
