Oct 14, 2022 · The Oscar-winning filmmaker behind 2002’s Gangs of New York has signed on to executive produce a TV adaptation and direct the show’s first two episodes, Deadline reported on Thursday.
The new series will focus on events surrounding organized gangs in the late 19th century, in New York, Chicago and New Orleans. "This time and era of America’s history and heritage is rich with characters and stories that we could not fully explore in a two hour film," said Scorsese.
