The show was originally intended as a one-month summer fill-in but proved sufficiently popular to win a regular season tryout in early 1976. It also gave birth to a Saturday morning kids’ edition called Junior Almost Anything Goes.
After all of the vulgarity and filth that is so prevalent in television today, Almost Anything Goes would be like a breath of fresh air for audiences of all ages; clean enough for children to enjoy and competitive and funny enough to entertain adult audiences.
