   • There's not much here that's very new, but that's okay because originality is hard to come by. It's all relative over here, and relatively speaking, The Detective is a fine little movie. Aaron Kwok stars as Tam, a rumpled, nearsighted detective in Thailand who's not as much seedy as he is simply sloppy.

   What are some good detective mysteries based on true events?

   • Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (she’s awesome!), Brokenwood Mysteries, Midsomer Murders, Murdoch Mysteries, My Life Is Murder (this has Lucy Lawless in it), etc. The Brits and the Aussies are top notch when it comes to cozy detective mysteries. They have some heavy things too, and a lot of ‘based on true events’ types.
