The work of the studios of Henry Sharp, a prominent 19th-century American stained glass maker, the 1877 window is a marked departure from his usual output.
Dec 26, 2020 · In his Black Jesus portrait, titled “Jesus Noir” (2020), Kaphar revisited a 19th century French painting, duct taping an image of a young Black man over an image of a white Jesus. His friend and studio studio assistant served as his model.
