Biography. Perhaps best known for co-creating the television cartoon, Batman: The Animated Series, Bruce Timm (b.1961) possesses a unique style that transforms well-established heroes and villains into cartoon-like figures using a minimalist style reminiscent of comic book artist and Hanna-Barbera character designer, Alex Toth.
Drawing style and influences. Timm's minimalist, аngular style is heavily based in his love of 1950s- and 1960s-era comics and Art Deco architecture style. He is also self-taught, having never received any formal art schooling.
Jan 5, 2023 · In designing the series, Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski emulated the Burton films' "otherworldly timelessness", incorporating period features such as black-and-white title cards, police airships (although no such thing existed, Timm has stated that he found it to fit the show's style) and a "vintage" color scheme with film noir flourishes.

Timm's work is easily known by its distinctive art style, first seen on Batman The Animated Series. Heavily influenced by his love of Golden Age comics and 1940s art deco design, Timm's characters usually have rather angular facial structure and simplistic hairstyles.
