Aug 4, 2017 · The Carson City Mint was made an Assay Office in 1899, and remained so until 1933. It was then used by the United States Government as an office for the Works Project Administration. In 1939 the building was sold to the State of Nevada for Museum usage. The Mint was first remodelled for museum use in l94l.
