Cattle Drive is a 1951 American Western film directed by Kurt Neumann and starring Joel McCrea, Dean Stockwell and Chill Wills. Much of the film was shot in the Death Valley National Park, California and Paria, Utah . Plot.
The third of six Westerns Joel McCrea made for Universal during the period 1950-54, Cattle Drive (1951) was a personal favorite of the star. After he decided to devote his film career exclusively to Westerns, McCrea attempted to make each one different from the last.

Chester Graham, Jr. (Dean Stockwell), the spoiled teenage son of a railroad tycoon, gets lost in the desert but is rescued by Dan Matthews (McCrea), a cattle herder on his way to San Diego.
