Nov 7, 2020 · Coming from someone who has bagged a few 14ers in Colorado and hiked some pretty cool trails in my life (in my opinion), the Fiery Gizzard Trail offers some of the best (and most challenging) hiking I have ever done! What You Can Expect on the Fiery Gizzard Trail: Lots and lots of STUNNING waterfalls.
Beginning at the Foster Falls parking lot, witness the 60 foot waterfall at the start. From the overlook, go to the right and cross the bridge to start the trail. Continue on the Fiery Gizzard Trail as it leads you deep into the old growth forest, coming across many creeks that fall off the rock ledges that dot the landscape.
The Fiery Gizzard Trail is a 13-mile hike that travels across what is arguably some of the best scenery in Tennessee. Waterfalls and streams abound, and several vantage points offer fantastic views of the valley below. The trail is accessible from two trailheads: One is near Tracy City, and the other at Foster Falls.
