Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral of the Catholic Church is located in Anchorage, Alaska, United States. It is the cathedral and a parish church of the Archdiocese of Anchorage–Juneau. Our Lady of Guadalupe is the seat of the archbishop along with the Co-Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in Juneau.
Our Parish History. Our Lady of Guadalupe Founded in 1970. Monseigneur John A. Lunney was tasked with forming a new parish in West Anchorage. The old Parish (now known as the Lunney Center), was constructed in 1976. Since its founding our parish has grown into a very diverse community with families from different ethnic backgrounds.

Dec 15, 2014 · With its elevation as the co-cathedral — next to Anchorage’s historic Holy Family Cathedral — came several historically significant new liturgical furnishings for Our Lady of Guadalupe. A chair used by Pope Saint John Paul II during his 1981 Anchorage visit is now in permanent residence as the cathedral’s “cathedra” or bishop’s chair.

Founded in 1970, the parish first met in the Turnagain Elementary School gym.
