NPG Music Club was the official website for Prince from 2001 to 2006, and was named after Prince's New Power Generation band. Based on being one of the first mainstream artists to use the internet as an independent music distribution hub, Prince won a Webby Lifetime Achievement Award for the site in 2006.
NPG Music Club (NPGMC) was Prince‘s official website and members’ download store/fan club between 14 February 2001 and 4 July 2006, taking over its previous incarnation NPGOnelineLTD.com.
Entering in to it’s third year at the start of 2003, Prince completely revamped the NPG (New Power Generation) Music Club website and started what would become the model for the site going forward.
Live tracks, music videos, hours of NPG-hosted “Ahdio Shows,” and over two albums worth of previously unreleased songs all flowed through the Club during this time. Access the NPG Music Club v2 the site uses Flash which is no longer supported.
