Plot. At a rural Northern Irish fairground, a Provisional IRA volunteer named Fergus (Stephen Rea) and a unit of other IRA members, led by Peter Maguire ( Adrian Dunbar ), kidnap a British soldier named Jody ( Forest Whitaker) after a female member of their unit, Jude ( Miranda Richardson ), lures Jody to a secluded area by promising sex.
Synopsis. British soldier Jody (Forest Whitaker) is lured by Jude while off duty in Ireland an taken captive by Fergus (Stephan Rea), Jude (Miranda Richardson), Maguire (Adrian Dunbar) and others in the IRA. He is held to be exchanged for a IRA prisoner the British are holding.
Neil Jordan's "The Crying Game" keeps us involved and committed through one plot twist after another. It's one of the best films of 1992.
