Alma Rosa Winery is deeply rooted in the winemaking history of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation. In the early 1970s, the unique geography, moderate climate and clay-loam soils attracted winery founder Richard Sanford to this area of Santa Barbara County, where he pioneered Pinot Noir and planted the region's first certified organic vineyard.
