Bon Homme County (/ ˈ b ɑː n ə m / BAHN əm; French: Comté de bon homme) is a county in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 7,003. Its county seat is Tyndall.

The scope of story was intentionally limited to a period of time between 1858, when the first sizable group of white settlers came to the area, and the 1880s when more settlers arrived to create towns like Tyndall and Tabor.

Year Organized: 1862. Square Miles: 563. County Seat: Tyndall. The county was named after an island in the Missouri River (now underwater). The name "Bon Homme" was given as the name of the island by Lewis and Clark in 1804. When the county was created, it was named for the village by that name.
