Cowboys And Aliens. | 2011. Daniel Craig does ultra-cool, while grizzled patriarch Harrison Ford appears to be limbering up for a gunslinging King Lear. Given the most preposterously high-concept title since Snakes On A Plane, it’s surprisingly straight-faced.
Dolarhyde, Ella, and other townsfolk form a posse to track an injured alien that escaped from the downed ship. Jake, meanwhile, travels to an abandoned cabin, and in a flashback, recalls returning there with the gold just before he and a woman, Alice (Abigail Spencer), were abducted by the aliens.
Daniel Craig plays Lonergan, the stagecoach killer, Harrison Ford plays the not enigmatically named Woodrow Dolarhyde, and Keith Carradine is Sheriff Taggart, who has his work cut out for him. The aliens, as usual, show limited signs of intelligence.
