Daniel Hahn retired in 2021 from a 34-year career as a police officer. He rose through the ranks of the Sacramento Police Department to the rank of captain before becoming the first African American police officer and police chief in Roseville CA in 2011.
In March 2011, Hahn was selected and sworn in as chief of police in the nearby city of Roseville. In August 2017, after six years at the helm in Roseville, he returned to his hometown to become the Sacramento Police Department’s 45th chief of police.
