Demon is an English heavy metal band, formed in 1979 by vocalist Dave Hill and guitarist Mal Spooner, both hailing from Leek, Staffordshire. The band is considered important to the new wave of British heavy metal movement.

1979-1994, 1996-present. Demon started out as an occult-themed NWOBHM band, but changed style to progressive/hard rock after their first two albums. Their later material varies, often even from album to album. Dave Hill and Mal Spooner were in a glam rock band Iron Cross before forming Demon. They produced two singles in the early '70s.
May 11, 2024 · The demon behind Demon, Dave Hill, has found another good writing partner in drummer Neil Ogden, as Hill always seems to deliver the goods with a decent co-writer as he has in the past with Steve Watts and Mal Spooner (RIP). The album artwork is a thing of beauty too. One you can lose yourself in whilst listening to the album.
