Phillips Exeter Academy (often called Exeter or PEA) is a coeducational university preparatory private school for boarding and day students in grades 9 through 12, including postgraduate students. Located in Exeter, New Hampshire and founded in 1781, it is the sixth-oldest boarding school in the United States.
Now a coeducational residential school with more than 1,000 high school students from the U.S. and 33 foreign countries, Exeter has a centuries-old tradition of academic excellence and a commitment to empowering Exonians to find their place in the world.
Books, laptops, music lessons, study abroad and more. We never stop working to make Exeter as affordable as possible. Approximately 50 percent of our students receive assistance each year.
Big Red athletes have been representing the Academy with the highest integrity and sportsmanship for 150 years. Nearly 70% of students participate on Exeter’s 60 interscholastic teams, representing 23 different sports.
